Journal 6: Want to save money?!?

The first time I ever saw the show Extreme Couponing on TLC I wondered what it was about. The first time I watched it I could not believe my eyes. Someone could buy two huge cart fulls of food and pay thirteen cents for it all. In this article/video is about Rudy and she is a serious coupon enthusiast. Rudy estimates all her "stuff" worth around 3,500 and paid roughly $200. Rudy is the type of person who has to photograph her grocery hauls, so she can remember how much stuff she got for a little price. Rudy says, "I will never stop Couponing!!"

I think couponing is a great idea, but I don't think I could ever go to the extreme, because I wouldn't know where to start. If there is a coupon in a grocery add and it's something I need I will use the coupon, but to take the time to find different coupons online for the things you needs sounds way to time consuming for a college student.

(Journal 11/14/12) Who doesn't love Disney?

This article starts out by saying, "Though briefly dormant while its Lucasfilm upgrade was installed, the Disney supercomputer responsible for crunching imagination algorithms has discovered another theme park rid that hasn't been retrofitted with a narrative expansion yet, processing its output of "Big Thunder Mountain."" After looking at all the franchising variables, it was said to be determined that the roller coaster involving a loose narrative about trains, gold, mining and a town haunted by angry Native American spirits would function most efficiently as a ABC TV show. The last time Disney attempted to combine the American West with trains and supernatural Native American stuff it costed way too much money.

I personally enjoy The Big Thunder Mountain ride every time I go to Disney, and still will enjoy it. I think that this ride will always be one of the best rides in Disney world.

Journal 5: Movie on Campus

The Campaign' Gone Awry
By Ben Travers
Elections represent opportunity. This is an opportunity to make your voice heard as a voter. This article explains that an election is an opportunity for a changing of the guard or to stay the course. They also say change will happen even if the majority remains the same. This past August, moviegoers made their voices heard at the box office, which lead to giving Will Ferrell's latest comedy about 86 million dollars. Viewers said, The Campaign, a top-heavy, half-dark, exploration of the extremely dirty world of politics, isn't a terrible Will Ferrell film. Some people however feel like it's time for a new outlandish comedian to take over. Some suggest that Zach Galifianakis does because of busting into the mainstream with The Hangover, Galifanakis has been a hot ticket since. In this movie it is said that Ferrell gives us the usual- loud yelling, nudity, and uniquely vulgar phrases.
A friend of mine went to this movie and found it really funny and she said it was good. If you are interested the University is playing this movie Thursday-Saturday in the theater FREE with student Id.
